How-To 1: How do I install a local AI on my laptop/computer?

We’re all familiar with AI: You type something into a web browser, the text is sent to a remote server, and a response comes back.
Local AI changes that. The model is stored as a file on your computer or home server and runs on your own hardware: no remote server, no login, no one reading over your shoulder. You can set it up for free in just a few minutes.
